There's a curious phenomena in Los Angeli known as the Widesinder. A serpent of unknown length and varying girth, it can occasionally be spotted slithering through dimensions, from one rift to another. That wouldn't in and of itself be notable- plenty of creatures, sentient and otherwise, travel through various Los Angeli to get where they're going- but what's made the Widesinder the fascination of the cryptozoology community is that no one has ever seen its head or the tip of its tail. Just the middle, sliding slowly and steadily out of one rift and into another. Expeditions have followed the Widesinder's body in both directions for months and found no end to it. Just more snake, sometimes widening, sometimes thinning, always slithering onward. Because of this, when a Widesinder appears, linking two rifts together, it provides some welcome stability. While many rifts are known to fluctuate, those that a Widesinder travels through have thus far remained static, the serpent perhaps holding them in place at is slithering infinitely onward.
-It is an ongoing debate as to whether there are multiple Widesinders or just the one, with seemingly separate bodies just being segments we haven't found the connection to yet.
-Rumor has it that if you find the head of a Widesinder, it will grant you a wish. Many scoff at this notion, or belive reaching the head to be impossible, but this doesn't stop a handful of hopefuls from dedicating themselves to following its path. These pilgrims are known as Winders.
-Another, more pessimistic rumor states that at some point, the Widesinder will find its own tail and consume it, forming an Ouroboros that will proceed to tighten around the fabric of reality until something breaks.
